Historie:
In 1909 werd Bologna F.C 1909 opgericht, ze luisteren naar de bijnaam Rossoblu, aangezien de clubkleuren rood en blauw vormen. De wedstrijden worden gespeeld in Stadio Renato Dall'Ara waar ruim 38.000 supporters plaats kunnen nemen. Het stadion bestaat sinds 1927, sinds 1983 is alleen de naam veranderd. Het stadion werd vernoemd naar een oud-voorzitter. Voor de tweede wereldoorlog waren ze succesvol, na de oorlog kon Bologna het niveau dat ze ambieerden niet meer halen. Maar door de vroege succesjaren staan ze op plek zes als het gaat om prijzen in Italië. 7x landskampioen en de Coppa Italia werd twee keer gewonnen in 1970 en 1974. Mitropacup werrd 3x gewonnen en Bologna wist eenmaal de UEFA Cup Intertoto te winnen en de Anglo Italian League Cup.

Laatste 20 jaar:
In het seizoen 1989/1990 promoveerde Bologna naar de hoogste afdeling. Maar het seizoen daarop degradeerde ze direct weer naar de Serie B. In 1993 ging het nog een keer mis en kwamen ze in de Serie C terecht. Vanaf 1996 kende Bologna een goede periode, tot 2003/2004 speelde ze mee in de middenmoot en speelde ze vaak in de UEFA Cup. In het jaar 2004/2005 sloot het noodlot weer toe, ze moesten terug naar de Serie B. In een tweestrijd tegen degradatie werd Parma in eigen huis met 0-1 verslagen maar thuis verloor Bologna met 0-2. Sinds 2008/2009 spelen ze weer op het hoogste niveau. Vorig seizoen eindigde ze één plek boven de degradatie.

Toevallig ben ik er vorige week ook nog geweest, een dag of 3. Heb Bologna altijd wel een sympathiek clubje gevonden, maar na een avondje doorzakken met wat locals heb ik besloten om ze dit jaar maar eens met extra belangstelling te gaan volgen.

Terwijl Siena, Perugia en vooral Bologna zelf toch volwaardige Serie A clubs hebben ? Siena is dan gedegradeerd dit jaar, en Perugia is afgegleden, maar het blijven toch traditionele clubs..

In de tijd dat Baggio nog speelde keek ik wel veel Serie A. Daarna is het wat minder geworden, al gold dat voor mijn interesse in voetbal in zijn algemeen wel. Sinds vorig seizoen probeer ik wel weer af en toe een wedstrijd mee te pikken, maar ik heb wel wat moeite met het tachtig jarige oorlog tempo, zoals je dat zelf al pakkend omschreef

Het helpt denk ik ook niet echt dat ik niet zozeer een voorkeur voor een Italiaanse club heb. Hele lichte sympathie voor een paar clubs, maar dat is het wel. Misschien dit seizoen Brescia maar in de gaten houden, maar ik verwacht niet dat die heel vaak te zien zullen zijn op Sport 1

Ja maar als ik in Utrecht ben, dan zie ik toch een meerderheid die voor de eigen FC is i.p.v. Ajax/PSV/Feyenoord of zo.
Dat zou ik in Italië ook verwachten.

Nja, daar waar de echte topspelers, het grote geld, de successen de laatste jaren afgenomen zijn, is de attractiviteit wel wat toegenomen. Clubs spelen vooruit, willen ook voetballen, sommige teams spelen met 3 aanvallers. Nu ook in Italië veranderingen plaats vinden omtrent tv-gelden, en veel clubs terug naar de basis moeten en jonge spelers kansen moeten gaan geven, zit de Serie A in mijn ogen weer op weg naar boven. Zal nog een aantal jaar duren, en ze zullen zich nooit gaan meten met een Premier League (qua financiën en entourage), maar het gat tussen Spanje & Engeland v.s. Italië gaat weer kleiner worden.

Heb afgelopen seizoen een aantal geweldige wedstrijden gezien. Niet altijd even goed, maar dat is het in Engeland ook niet. Alleen ligt het tempo daar veel hoger, is er meer geld, grotere spelers. In Italië vind ik vooral de clubs net buiten de top erg leuk. Creatief beleid doet daar wonderen, en je ziet elk seizoen clubs die een serieus gevaar voor topclubs vormen. Juventus en AC Milan hebben de laatste jaren alle moeite met clubs als Palermo, Sampdoria, Napoli.

Het grote aantal Italianen in de Serie A is dan inderdaad wel weer mooi vergeleken bij de PL, waar je bij sommige clubs echt maar af moet wachten of er nog een Engelsman mee doet.

Ik ben wel bang dat het gat wat betreft stadions e.d. ten opzichte van met name Engeland en Duitsland dusdanig groot is dat Italië daar nog erg lang last van gaat hebben.

Bologna beat Villarreal to Ramirez Bologna appear to have beaten competition from Villarreal to capture Uruguayan midfielder Gaston Ramirez. The 20-year-old Penarol talent was at the centre of a bidding war, but Datasport claim that the Serie A side got the nod. It’s reported that a fax came through late Saturday night from Penarol President Juan Pablo Damiani. Bologna should hand over €5m in instalments to be completed by 2011, while the five-year contract is set to be signed on Tuesday. Fiorentina had also been linked with Ramirez, who is an Under-20 international for Uruguay, as a replacement for the injured Stevan Jovetic.

Juve sell Ekdal to Bologna Friday 13 August, 2010 Juventus have confirmed the departure of Albin Ekdal after Bologna agreed to pay almost €5m for the Swede. The 21-year-old, who impressed on loan at Siena last term, joins the Rossoblu after they bought him outright for €4.8m, but the two clubs then subsequently signed a co-ownership deal for the player. “Juventus Football Club S.p.A. announces the disposal to Bologna F.C. S.p.A. of the registration rights of the player Albin Ekdal for a consideration of € 4.8 million to be paid by Bologna in 3 years,” a note on the Bianconeri website read. “At the same time, Juventus and Bologna signed a player sharing agreement related to the same player for a consideration of € 2.4 million to be paid by Juventus in 3 years. “The operation generates a positive economic effect for about € 2.2 million in the current financial year.” Ekdal has already admitted that he is leaving Turin with the intention of one day returning to the club. The midfielder has played in 28 Serie A League games so far in his career, scoring one goal.

Matic set for Bologna move Sunday 15 August, 2010 Reports from England suggest Bologna are close to capturing Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic on loan. The rumour had been circulating in Italy for some time, as the Rossoblu beat challenges from Genoa and Udinese for the player. The 22-year-old Serb needs regular playing time to develop and Bologna would be the ideal destination. It’s believed the official confirmation of this transfer could be announced towards the end of next week. The deal would be a straight one-year loan without an option to make the move permanent or buy out half his contract.

It's no secret that Milan have privately flaunted the 27-year-old on the market this summer. The Sardinian businessman only bought Bologna in July, taking an 80 per cent stake from the Menarini family. Speaking to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Porcedda said: “There is no crisis. If anything there is a moment of financial tension linked to the late payment of the bond to the Lega which we have since honoured. “I would like to clarify that the commitment has been assumed by my management and doesn't belong to that of the past. But there is still scepticism towards me. “I didn't expect to be welcomed with open arms, as the fans did who I would like to once again thank. “It takes time, but I would like to be judged on results and not on my bank account. “I don't feel racism and I don't feel like a stranger here so I have no intention of selling Bologna, though today I could do it in five minutes and not 15.”

Malesani won't have 'moody' Bologna Alberto Malesani has urged Bologna to “not get moody” for today’s relegation dogfight with Lecce. The Rossoblu had been doing well, but recent results saw them plummet to the foot of the table alongside Parma, Cesena and Bari. “We have to keep calm and humble. The important thing is to be effective and pick up points for our objective, which is safety and certainly not the Europa League,” said the Coach. “Even if we were to win, that wouldn’t change anything. Porcedda not welcome in Bologna Bologna supporters have written an open letter to club owner Sergio Porcedda telling him that he isn't welcome in the city or at the Renato Dall'Ara. Porcedda has been under constant fire since he acquired Bologna in the summer. Bologna were asked to appear before the FIGC's federal magistrate yesterday after wages for May and June weren't paid. The Menarini family, who sold their stake in the club to Porcedda, also claim they are entitled to outstanding monies. Bologna now risk incurring a three-point penalty for not getting their house in order. It's not the first time Porcedda's financial clout has been scrutinised this season and Bologna fans have had enough. “Following what has happened in the last few hours damaging our beloved Bologna, the groups of the Curva Andrea Costa demand that Mr Porcedda does not appear in Bologna or at the Dall'Ara anymore. “Starting from the home game against Chievo, we ask that the person we already consider to be our ex-President never puts a foot in our stadium again.” “Whoever betrays our trust is finished to us forever.”

She and her father sold the club to Porcedda in the summer, keeping a 20 per cent share, but now claim they have still not been paid. “Porcedda has not paid us a euro. We feel ripped off as a family and as a city,” she told Sky Sport Italia. “We do not have the possibility or the means to take over again. However as we love Bologna, unlike some people, we are doing everything we can to resolve the situation. “Bologna will not go bankrupt, even if the situation is serious.” Today’s training session was interrupted by around 100 supporters at the Casteldebole ground. They chanted ‘We are always with you’ and negotiated a meeting with the players and Coach Alberto Malesani. The fans also chanted ‘Porcedda out of Bologna’ and have written an open letter telling the President he is not welcome in the stands of the Dall’Ara.

President Sergio Porcedda risks meltdown and the club could be docked points after it emerged the May and June wages had still not been paid. Former owners the Menarini family claim they still haven’t been paid for when Porcedda bought out the side in the summer and now current stars are getting itchy feet. “A January departure is a possibility, but I want to hope that Porcedda can resolve this situation,” said Viviano’s agent, Renzo Contratto. “The overall situation of my client is that of any player who has not been paid in months. On top of that, Emiliano has an old contract that is certainly not equal to his worth, so clearly this is a doubly complex situation.” Viviano is co-owned by Inter and it’s widely believed he will return to San Siro in the summer, but with Bologna’s problems even a January switch is not to be ruled out. Meanwhile, President Porcedda has also been criticised by Colomba, the Coach he fired a couple of days before the season kicked off. “I am in the same situation as everyone else,” said the boss. “I could say many things, but it would be too much.”

Bologna may be in total chaos and risk bankruptcy, but Coach Alberto Malesani keeps calm in Napoli. “The real owner of Bologna is the city and its fans.”

The Rossoblu have been deferred to the Disciplinary Commission after failing to pay outstanding wages from May and June.

President Sergio Porcedda bought out the club in the summer, but missed this week’s deadline to cover the outstanding wages.

A series of complaints followed with goalkeeper Emiliano Viviano, ex-Coach Franco Colomba and former owners the Menarini family claiming they have not been paid either.

“In these situations it’s too easy to grab hold of alibis. It would be a grave error,” warned Coach Malesani ahead of tonight’s trip to Napoli. “We have a great opportunity to show our moral and professional qualities.

“I never had any suspicions about the way the club was being run. I always cheer on the company I am with, even when I used to work for an office supply manufacturer. In purely professional terms, nothing has happened as far as I’m concerned and I trust the current President to resolve the problems.”

After Viviano’s agent complained he had not been paid in months, there are fears some players could demand a January move or even to sue the club for breach of contract.

“We are people with very fortunate lifestyles and it is our duty to behave professionally,” replied Malesani.

“All we can do is pour out our talents on the pitch and I am 100 per cent sure my lads will not disappoint.

“It was wonderful to see the fans at our training session and they really fired us up. Let us not forget that the real owner of Bologna is the city and its fans.

“Players come and go, so do Coaches and Presidents, but the club remains.”

Bologna’s future is plunged into uncertainty once again after President Sergio Porcedda failed to reach an agreement with Intermedia.

The club risks bankruptcy and has already been docked one point in Serie A due to financial irregularities.

There were high hopes for a meeting today with Intermedia representatives Massimo Zanetti and Giovanni Consorte.

“After several hours of debate, we have not been able to reach an agreement on covering the funds of Bologna FC 1909 towards Porcedda and the losses of the club,” read a statement.

The Rossoblu have under a month to find new investors or risk bankruptcy, as the players have started legal proceedings to recoup unpaid wages.

Maar nu lijkt de redding nabij:

'Koffie' redt Italiaanse voetbalclub van ondergang

ROME - Het befaamde koffiemerk Segafredo redt de Italiaanse voetbalclub Bologna van de financiële ondergang. Eigenaar Massimo Zanetti kondigde vandaag aan dat hij alle aandelen van de noodlijdende nummer veertien van de Serie A wil overnemen. Het bestuur van Bologna moet de transactie vrijdag nog goedkeuren.

Bologna staat op de rand van faillissement. De spelers hebben in de afgelopen vier maanden geen salaris ontvangen. De Italiaanse voetbalfederatie schorste twee topmannen van de club eerder deze maand voor een half jaar wegens wanbeleid.

De ploeg kreeg in de competitie een punt aftrek wegens een betalingsachterstand bij de belastingdienst. Door het uitblijven van de salarissen aan de spelers dreigt een nieuwe sanctie van twee punten minder. (ANP)
